Helping Kids Win!
This was a non-school event put together by Laken Werner with the help of LM Athletic Boosters to raise money for sporting gear for children who can't afford it. All proceeds went to the United Way Kids First Fund.
" Congrats to the winners & Thank you to all the teams that participated! Another big thanks to all the wonderful people who helped me through the process! It was an amazing outcome!" - Laken Werner

Please pass congratulations to the L-M FFA Gold Envirothon Team for winning the State FFA Envirothon title!!!

Bryar, Morgan, Addison, Wylie, and Karson were the top placed FFA team and the 2nd place team overall at the

Iowa Envirothon Contest held at Jester Park in Des Moines. They will represent Iowa at the 2019 National FFA

Convention in October in either the National FFA Forestry CDE or National FFA Environmental & Natural Resource CDE.

We will get to choose which contest we want to compete in.

Please also send congrats to the L-M FFA Black Team for doing great today also!!

That team was Cody, Max, Jayden, Chase, and Gage!

Both teams completed practicums over Forestry, Wildlife, Aquatics, Soils, and Farm Conservation, along with giving a

15-minute oral presentation over a crop and cattle farm scenario where they had to recommend management practices

to improve soil health, conservation, reduce nutrient and soil runoff, improve wildlife and pollinator habitat, maintain

profitability in the short and long term, and show how their recommended management practices would benefit the

environment, local Community, and help world food security.

These guys did an amazing job and worked very hard over the past 4 weeks preparing for the regional and state contests!

 Magic: The Gathering
Magic: The Gathering draft tournament took place on April 6th
Placewinners: Mark Engel 1st, Andrew Stephens 2nd, Alex Barajas 3rd, and Hunter Rickey 4th.
There were 16 eager participants that were all able to walk away with some cards that they can use in future games!
A very BIG thank you to the L-M PTO for helping to fund this event!
We will continue to have this event every year in Spring as long as there are students willing to set aside part of a Saturday
for some fun and camaraderie with cards!
